Flowers that are pollinated by the wind have smaller petals and sepals than flowers that are pollinated by insects or animals. Why are small petals advantageous for the pollinating process?
Plant pollination question?
When you're wind pollinated, anything besides stamens and pistils is a waste of space and energy and does nothing but get in the way.
Reply:if the petals are large in wind pollinating flowers than stamens wont b sufficently exposed to discharge pollen grains with the slight breeze n even pistils also wont be exposed to receive the pollengrains n moreover why to waste energy in producing larger petals when there is no worry of attracting insects
